A novel three-component covalent organic polymer (COP) named SLEL-6 was prepared based on Schiff base chemistry through a multi-component method for ciprofloxacin removal from an aqueous solution. It could be embedded in sodium alginate (SA) to obtain spherical COP/SA composite beads (SLEL-6/SA beads) with enhanced adsorption ability and boosted recyclability.
