| Abstract: | Switching of 119 μm CH3OH laser radiation in less than 1 ns was achieved by irradiating high resistivity Si (>104 Ω cm) and GaAs (>107 Ω cm) samples with 1.4 ns, 150 μJ pulses from a 337 nm TEA nitrogen laser. Modulation degrees of up to 100% were observed both in reflection and transmission. |
