Ligational behaviour ofN-benzamido-N′-benzoylthiocarbamide (HBBTC) towards transition metal ions

Summary Complexes ofN-benzamido-N-benzoyl-thiocarbamide (HBBTC) with Co^II, Ni^II, Cu^II, Zn^II, Cd^II and UO ₂ ²⁺ have been prepared and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, molar conductance, magnetic moment and spectral (visible, i.r.) studies. I.r. spectra show that HBBTC behaves in a bidentate and/or tridentate manner. Different stereochemistries are proposed for Co^II, Ni^II and Cu^II complexes on the basis of spectral and magnetic studies.
