The effect of some organic solvents on the turbidimetric analysis of tertiary butyl alcohol

Summary The effect of a number of organic solvents on a previously described turbidimetric method for tertiary butyl alcohol has been studied. It has been shown that most of the solvents exert only a negligible influence and that good calibration curves can be obtained in 50–70% acetic acid solvent.

Zusammenfassung Der Einfluß zahlreicher organischer Lösungsmittel auf eine früher beschriebene turbidimetrische Methode zur Bestimmung von tertiärem Butylalkohol wurde untersucht. Es wurde gezeigt, daß die meisten der untersuchten Lösungsmittel ohne wesentlichen Einfluß sind und daß besonders günstige Eichkurven in 50 bis 70%iger Essigsäure erhalten werden.

Résumé Etude de l'effet d'un certain nombre de solvants organiques sur une méthode turbidimétrique antérieurement décrite pour le dosage de l'alcool butylique tertiaire. L'auteur montre que la plupart des solvants n'exercent qu'une influence négligeable et que l'on peut obtenir de bonnes courbes d'étalonnage dans l'acide acétique à 50–70%.
