Die Molekulardynamik

This is a brief introduction to some of the basic concepts underlying the modern molecular simulations techniques, in particular the molecular dynamics (MD) method. This field belongs to the statistical mechanics branch of computational chemistry. Some applications in physical chemistry are illustrated through a few examples. The paper ends with epistemological considerations.
