| Abstract: | The OH-stretching band of more than 500 alcohols and phenols have been measured in the apolar solvents CC14 and CS2 under standard conditions and the band parameters have been determined. Based on these data a system is being developed which provides the molecular structure in the surroundings of the hydroxyl group. The scheme of the system is outlined and discussed. |
