| Abstract: | Cryogenic matrices containing molecular aggregates of methyl nitrite or methanol have been irradiated with a cw CO2 laser. At the irradiation frequency hole burning was observed by means of a grating infrared spectrophotometer. The results suggest that vibrational absorption lineshapes of aggregates in cryogenic matrices are dominated by inhomogeneous line-broadening. |
