| Abstract: | A semi-empirical model of vortex ring formation during exhaustion of a pulsed submerged jet from a circular orifice is presented.
Formulas for determining the parameters of the vortex ring, depending on the conditions of formation of the latter, are derived.
The calculated characteristics of the vortex ring as functions of criteria determining the vortex formation process are demonstrated
to be in good agreement with experimental data.
