Abstract: | Chromatographic separation of oleic acid-I131 and triolein-I131 from free iodide has been studied in a number of solvents on ordinary chromatographic paper as well as paper impregnated with various heavy metals. The latter help in firmly fixing the iodide at the point of spotting. Copper and lead oleates which can form on the impregnated papers move along with oleic acid. Bismuth, mercuric, palladium, and silver oleates are not formed on the impregnated papers. |
