Abstract: | Under the action of the gravitational wave, the length of an optical resonator and, therefore, its resonance frequency change. In conventional resonators, this frequency shift is too small to be detected. We propose a method that provides a very high resonance frequency-versus-resonator length slope. As a result, a gravitational wave with an intensity of 10−21 can shift the resonance frequency by more than 10 kHz, which can easily be detected. |
