| Abstract: | Arene, and alkanesulfonic acids are easily reduced to the corresponding polysulfides R-(S)n-R (n=2.9≈3.3) by treatment with phosphorus pentasulfide. In this reaction, the formation of both POS and PSH linkages is considered to be involved in the key step of the reduction. |
