Abstract: | The method of addition of antioxidants to immiscible polymer blends can influence the end use performance of a polyblend artifact. This work is aimed at determining the most suitable procedure for adding antioxidants to a polystyrene (PS)‐polypropylene (PP) blend (80/20), and its optimum concentration using three different methodologies. The effects of UV exposure on mechanical properties of the polyblends were examined. Results show that both the method of addition and concentration of the antioxidant do not alter mechanical properties, nevertheless, a concentration of 0.1% w/w is recommended. |
