| Abstract: | The thermal decomposition of some dihalotetramminecobalt(III) nitrates [tetrammire =(NH3)4, (NH3)2(en), (NH3)(dien), (en)2, (pn)2, (trien), etc.] with different degrees of chelation was studied by various thermoanalytical techniques. A partial oxidation—reduction was observed for these complexes above 200°C which was indicated by a rapid TG mass-loss and a large exothermic DTA peak. A relative order thermal stability is reported. |
