| Abstract: | The technique of thermal modulation is applied to the study of transient thermal properties of thin films of Au. Relaxation spectra as seen in the reflected laser light give a value for the thermal diffusivity of Au as κ ? 1.2 cm2/sec, comparable to previous data for the bulk metal. Versatility and potentials of the laser reflectance relaxation spectroscopy are discussed. |
