Finite temperature calculation of angular velocities and moments of inertia in rotating nuclei

Abstract:The rotational properties of nuclei in the statistical region are predicted on the basis of a simple BCS model. A back-bending, which disappears as the temperature increases, is observed in the plot of the moment of inertia versus the square of the angular velocity.
