Perturbation theory calculation of high-order bound-bound transitions

We have calculated the transition rate for high-order bound-bound transitions in hydrogen by using the approximate perturbation theory result of Bebb and Gold. We find that there is a considerable amount of discrepancy between the results of our calculation and those of the exact perturbation theory calculation of Gontier and Trahin.
