| Abstract: | Using the hydrodynamical equations, it is shown that an oscillating magnetic field applied perpendicular to the helical axis of a cholesteric liquid crystal causes the helical structure to oscillate at even harmonics of the field frequency. The feasibility of doing light scattering from these driven modes is also discussed. |
