| Abstract: | Magnetization measurements on TbAl2 single crystals are reported for 4.2 K in magnetic fields up to 50 kOe applied in the three symmetry directions. We find 〈111〉 as the easy and 〈100〉 as the hard direction of magnetization. No quenching of the magnetic moment is observed. The results are interpreted in terms of the crystalline electric field. |
