Abstract:The principle and implementation of an instrument to measure textile fibrediameterdistribution are presented. This instrument is based on the technology of laser diffraction power spectrum andisapplied to measure the mean diameter and mean square deviations,as well as the fibre diameter distribution. A formula is developed,whicdescribes the opticalpower distribution of the fiber samples being arranged randomly in a plane. A new approach ispromoted, by which the multiple one dimension diffraction optical powers of randomorientanon are detected and integrated with a circular optoelectronic detector.
