| Abstract: | The reaction of β-pinene with thiols using zinc chloride catalyst occurred regiospecifically to synthesize pinane-type sulfides and to form
anti-Markovnikov addition products. However, the pinane structure isomerized into menthane in the presence of boron trifluoride
etherate.
