Abstract:By using results obtained by the Ape Collaboration 1] we study the glueball spectrum and the string tension in lattice QCD by analyzing correlation functions between operators. We use and discuss the smearing method. We consider a 53 × 16 lattice at β = 5.6 as a test case, and a 123 × 32 lattice at β = 5.9 in order to compare with the old wall results of ref. 3]. We study the structure of the excited states.
