| Abstract: | The normal impact of a blunt cylindrical projectile on the apex of a thin spherical aluminium cap which caused large permanent displacements was experimentally investigated. Dynamic strain gauge measurements were carried out and the final deflection profile was measured. It was found that reversed plastic flow occurred throughout the deformation process.The project was supported by the Science Foundation of Shanxi Provice, China |
