| Abstract: | Excitation transfer from optically pumped pyrene to perylene has been investigated to determine its applicability to dye vapor lasers. A quenching distance of 9 ± 1 Å and a quantum yield of transfer of 30–40% have been measured and an overall energy conversion efficiency of 20% has been obtained. |
