Spectroscopic analysis of the heat of formation in AIBIIIC compounds

The spectroscopic model for the heat of formation of tetrahedrally coordinated binary compounds is extended to the ternary chalcopyrite semiconductors. The heats of formation of all A^IB^IIIC compounds are evaluated and compared with experimental data. Possible reasons for existing discrepancies between theory and experiment are discussed.
