On the delay of thermally activated motion of pyramidal dislocations in zinc

The effect of shear stress and temperature on the delay time, t_i, of thermally activated motion of dislocations in the {112 2} 〈112 3〉 slip system in Zn single crystals is studied. The delay is associated with a higher density of crystal defects at the initial path of dislocation motion.
