| Abstract: | Chromatography and mass spectrometry were used to investigate products and kinetics of thermal, thermo-oxidative and thermo-hydrolytic degradation of compounds modelling fragments of polypyromellitdiphenyloxidediimide. Data on the degradation of benzoic and pyromellitic acids, diphenyl and diaminodiphenyl ethers, N-phenyl benzamide and N-phenyl phthalimide made it possible to draw conclusions concerning the effect of the chemical structure of polyimides on their thermal stability. |
