Abstract: | When analyzing the wave phenomena in an infinite waveguide by FEM we have to fulfill the radiation conditions on the boundary of the FE modeling mesh which represents affictive boundary. The problem of radiation is efficiently solved by the solutions of the eigenvalue problem evaluated by standard computer programs. The presented example of an infinite waveguide demonstrates that the procedure is simple to apply regardless of the diversity on a section of the waveguide, and yields evident parametric insight into the propagating and standing wave modes. |
