Effect of Bottom Undulations on the Film Thickness in Gravity Driven Flow

We study the flow of a liquid down an inclined plane with sinusoidal bottom profile and show how long wavy bottom variations modify the film thickness with respect to that down a flat inclined plane. The experimental results on the film thickness are compared to different perturbation analyses.
