| Abstract: | Let G be a compactly generated, locally compact group of polynomialgrowth. Removing a restrictive technical condition from a previouswork, we show that the weighted group algebra  is a symmetric Banach *-algebra if and only if theweight function  satisfies the GRS-condition.
