Abstract:The new superacid catalyst SO42- /TiO2-SiO2 is prepared by treating the binary oxide TiO2-SiO2 with 0. 5mol . L-1 sulfuric acid solution. The structure of catalyst is characterized by XRD, IR, XPS, BET, Hammett indicator and the photocatalytic degradation activity of S042 ~ /Ti02-Si02 for methyl orange is tested. The result indicated: That catalysts have superacid property, TiO2 in S042-/Ti02-Si02 is of anatase structure, the specific surface area of catalyst is 299. 308m2, g-1 when calcined at 500C. Compare with TiO2-SiO2, photocatalytic activities of SO42- / Ti02-SiO2 are better.
