| Abstract: | Benzimidazole, a benzene-fused heterocyclic compound, has acquired significant attention in the field of contemporary medicinal chemistry because of its wide array of pharmacological activities. Nitrogen containing heterocyclic compounds are part of several therapeutically important agents with several recent patents shedding light on their worth. For these reasons, this review is concerned with different methods for synthesis of benzimidazole derivatives and their biological importance. |
