| Abstract: | The stability of a Chaplygin's sphere rotating about a vertical axis-on a slightly rough horizontal plane is considered. It is shown that the rotation is unstable about the shortest or middle central principal axes with viscous friction and uniformly stable about the longest one with viscous or dry friction. |
