Abstract:The results of studies carried out in the past five years on the gas-phase synthesis of organochlorosilanes, pentachlorodisiloxanes, organochlorogermanes, and organochlorostannanes at 400–550 °C in the presence of hexachlorodisilane or 1,1-dichloro-1-silacyclopent-3-ene as sources of dichlorosilylene are summarized.
