Abstract: | The generalized Bloch equations (GBE) describing the temporal evolution of a single two-level atom interacting with a classical external field of arbitrary intensity and with a thermodynamic bath are obtained from the time convolutionless generalized master equation or equivalently from the Tokuyama-Mori identity. These GBE are then used to calculate the absorption spectrum of a single two-level atom with frequency modulated by dichotomic noise with time-dependent transition probability. |
