| Abstract: | A convenient method for preparing cinnamides and their derivatives via condensationof telluronium salts with corresponding aldehydes is reported. The effects of solvents andbases on the condensation were studied. The yields were 82-97%. All products are the E-and E,E-isomers as confirmed by their m.p., IR and ~1H NMR spectra. |
