| Abstract: | Stereochemistry of reductions of a pyridinium and quinoliniums with an asymmetric sulfinyl group has been studied. Dithionite and borohydride prefer the face characterized by a lone pair on sulfur atom. Dihydropyridine prefers the face characterized by a S-O bond. |
