| Abstract: | The symmetry of the antiferromagnetic Heisenberg exchange interaction is lowered by dipolartype interactions. It is reasoned that the combination of small transition matrix elements and the  zero field splittings due to the symmetry lowering can account for the absence of E.S.R. signals.My thanks are due to the Leverhulme Trust for an Emeritus Fellowship during the tenure of which this investigation was carried out. |
