Equilibrium of a pending drop taking into account the flexural rigidity of the intermediate layer

A model of the equilibrium state of a drop pending from the horizontal plane is considered. We take into account the work necessary for the formation of the intermediate layer between the liquid and gas phases and its elastic properties. The theorem of existence of the equilibrium surface of the drop is proven using the variational principle taking into account the flexibility of the intermediate layer.
