Abstract: | A special type of glass discs—prepared of sodium tetraborate with varying concentrations of only one element—are used for the calibration of XRF spectrometers. The same glass discs are used for the determination of background influence coefficients Fi,j which makes it possible to calculate the background signal in the unknown samples concerning the analyte (i) when only the characteristic radiation from the interfering elements (j) are measured together with the i-signal on a blank disc of pure sodium tetraborate. The determination of strontium is used as an example. |
