| Abstract: | The reaction of arenes with potassium peroxodisulfate, elemental iodine, and acetic acid in the presence of concd sulfuric acid, efficiently generates the corresponding (diacetoxyiodo)arenes in good yields, providing an easy, safe, and effective method for preparing (diacetoxyiodo)arenes from arenes and iodine. |
