| Abstract: | Acylals were prepared from aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes using heteropolyacid (SiPW-8) encapsulated into the framework of mesoporous silica as catalysts in a solvent-free procedure. The catalyst was very effective and reusable for the production of 1,1-diacetates from aldehydes under a mild reaction condition. |
