Abstract: | Using diagrammatic Green function methods we show that the criterion for localization of the phonon-polariton in ionic crystals containing randomly distributed dielectric spheres can be satisfied. The localization characteristics are discussed. It is proposed that effects of the phonon-polariton localization can be observed in optical absorption experiments. |
