Abstract: | In a cosmological setting, Kaluza-Klein heavy modes can decouple. One can then treat them as “dust” in a 4D effective picture, even when these particles are massless from a higher dimensional point of view. We find cosmological solutions with decoupled heavy modes considering toroidal compactification for the extra dimensions and also the Casimir effect induced by the compactification. |
