Abstract: | A new internal friction (IF) peak, accompanied by changes in frequency, electrical resistance and by macroscopical shape change, was observed below the martensitic transformation temperature Ms in quenched near equi-atomic NiTi alloys after an annealing treatment between 673 and 923 K. In differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) measurements a peak was found in the corresponding temperature range. |
