Abstract: | We study the effect of magnetic interactions on screening in abelian theories. By solving the coupled Schwinger-Dyson equations for the gauge-field propagator and the vertex function in the high momentum region, we find a nonperturbative solution whose existence implies that the screening in these theories is suppressed and the zero-charge problem may be absent. We speculate about the possible realization of this scenario in strongly coupled QED. |
