Effects of spin fluctuations on the paramagnetic susceptibility and metamagnetic transition in UPt3 |

| Abstract: | The paramagnetic susceptibility for UPt3 is calculated in the static gaussian statistics of spin fluctuations by using a realistic itinerant electron model. The magnetic field dependence of the magnetisation is also calculated and it is shown that the metamagnetic transition occurs at about 140 T. |
