Abstract: | Microscopic nucleus-nucleus potentials have been calculated by the Tübingen Group, using the energy-density formalism, for several systems. If these potentials are to be interpreted as optical potentials which generate the elastic-scattering wave function and phase shifts, they would be expected to satisfy causality. It is shown by investigations of the energy dependence of the real and imaginary parts of the microscopic potentials that they are consistent with causality requirements. |
