Problem of the interaction of a wedge moving with supersonic velocity when it encounters an interface between two gases

A class of exact solutions is constructed for the problem of the interaction of a supersonic wedge when it encounters an interface between two gases. It is shown that the realization of these solutions requires the bow shock to be perpendicular to the interface between the gases. A numerical analysis is made of the exact solution as a function of the intensity of the bow shock and the specific-heat ratio of the oncoming gas.
