Spectroscopic and Magnetic-Optical Properties of Potassium-Erbium Double Tungstate

Abstract:The results of spectroscopic investigations of potassium-erbium double tungstate KEr(WO4)2 are presented. The basic properties of the absorption spectra are described. The configuration diagram constructed for KEr(WO4)2 on the basis of experimental data is given. The magneto-optical properties in a magnetic field of up to 80 kOe in the spectral range from 14,000 to 20,000 cm–1 have been measured. The optical spectra were studied for light polarized along the symmetry axis C 2 and normal to it.
