The Fifth Constituent of Concrete--Chemical Additive

Concrete chemical additive has been increasingly and widely used in the construction with concrete. As a resuly, it has been regarded as the fifth constituent of concrete. This paper introduces the major types and functioning mechanisms of concrete chemical additives, together with the matters needing attention to in their usage.
